Hello 2012! We are sure that you will live up to (if not improve on) a very productive and successful 2011. Production is underway and orders are flowing in. Statistics show that more and more parents are using Snuggle Bugs and we hope that this innovative carrying product soars to new heights this year. Our first expo will be The Living & Loving Baby Show at Emperors Palace in March and we hope to see you all there!

The Snuggle Bug & Minimal Parenting

I found a very interesting article on the Guardian Website titled “Who needs a cot or a pram when you’re bringing up a baby?”

The article refers to Anna and Paul Garland, a couple from Lewisham, south London who practice a “minimal parenting philosophy”.

Not only have this thrifty couple opted to use a Snuggle Bug-type wrap rather than buying a pram, they have also opted to save money in other different ways.

Saving themselves the average £264 outlay on a pram, the Garlands have chosen instead to use a combination of a wrap sling and an Ergobaby carrier. While they’ve had to deal with a few negative comments, Paul believes that carrying his son “has meant Levin feels safe and secure.” It is also much more practical for getting around on public transport.

So, it’s not just about the money, although they seem to have saved a lot… The article elaborates on their philosophy saying: “There was more behind their shopping aversion than a hectic schedule. The couple were advocates of attachment parenting, a movement that encourages infants to be kept close and their needs met swiftly, without any emphasis on a baby-focused daily routine.”

We have finally gathered our breath after the very busy show in Sandton. We are sure that all of you who bought a Snuggle Bug, will enjoy lots of snuggly time with your babies. We are extremely happy with the outcome and will now be stocking up for the Christmas holidays.

We are 2 days in and it has been so busy! We have had so many moms and dads using Snuggle Bugs to carry their babies around the show. We have had rave reviews and very happy customers. This lady put her little boy in the Snuggle bug and experienced the new feeling of ‘hands free’. She is amazed at the relief on her lower back. ..and yes, you can waear a Snuggle bug on your back too!

I was asked to babysit a tiny 3 day old baby boy and although I was busy with other things, the Snuggle Bug made my life so easy. All he wanted was to be held close and I could do that and keep him happy while I got on with my day.

It’s been ages since the last post! We have been so busy with all our new customers that admin had been a bit neglected. It has been great to see Snuggle Bug clad moms and babes walking around in shopping centres. It seems that people really know the product and are using it well.

On another note, we have started 2 new base colours and so far so good. We have a light grey which which is beautifully neutral and when used as a pocket on black it is striking! To add to that we have introduced a bottle green. It is an awesome colour and coupled with a variety of coloured pockets it looks amazing!

We will be exhibiting at teh Baba Indaba soon, so watch this space for more info….

Expo over

The expo was great and we doubled sales from last year. So many Mommy’s were walking around carrying their babies all wrapped up and snug. (pics to follow) It was awesome! The most popular colours this year were black and stone, both of which, we are sold out. Now it’s back to production…..

So it’s that time again (I can’t believe how time flies) and the Living & Loving Baby expo is upon us! Once again we are exhibiting Snuggle Bugs and are expecting an exciting event. There are loads of exhibitors this year and plenty of fun for both adults and kids.

Last year this particular show proved to be great for product awareness and we were subsequently approached by a number of retailers wanting to stock Snuggle Bugs, as well as many individuals who were delighted by its functionality and design. As you can see from the pics, the packaging has changed and our ‘new look’ is a great addition.

Production has been in full swing in preparation for this weekend’s show and it is now safe to say that Snuggle Bugs are lined up and ready for action! So if you are looking for a bit of fun between Thursday and Sunday (31/03 – 03/04), please come and visit us at Emperors palace at stall no. 133. We would love to see you there!

These colours are examples of the pocket embroidery colours. The range is also mixed ie, black Snuggle Bug with a red pocket etc.

Here is Holly with her beautiful baby Abigail. Look how comfy they are going for a beach walk. Holly says she loves wearing her lime Snuggle Bug and it has helped her so much with Abi’s reflux!
